Dietary Aide

Dietary AidePineview Cottage, northern Michigan's premiere assisted living community, are looking for some energetic dietary aides to join our growing team! The right candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to provide excellent customer service to our residents.Responsibilities:Serves meals in the health center pantriesSets up tables in the health center dining room(s) and breaks them down after the mealsTransports hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantriesTransports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantriesWashes silver, glass, china in dish machines in pantries as per regulationProvides health center snacks and supplements per diet ordersMaintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining roomsSets tables and maintains work stations in proper orderTakes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteouslyClears dishes from tables during and after meal servicePrepares therapeutic desserts and salads as requiredAnswers pertinent questions about menu itemsEnsures that orders match physician’s diet ordersQualifications:Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversionsPrevious experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not requiredAbility to plan, organize and set up trays and plates by diet orders and interpret specifications and standardsAbility to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers.
