The Department of Neurology within our organization is looking for a full-time faculty member specializing in Neuro-Oncology to enhance the growing Neuro-Oncology Program.

This role encompasses both inpatient and outpatient neuro-oncology duties, primarily based at our main hospital, with potential for clinical responsibilities at additional locations, such as Mount Sinai West.

The ideal candidate will care for patients dealing with primary and metastatic CNS tumors, as well as neurological complications arising from cancer, all within a collaborative academic setting. Key responsibilities include providing inpatient neuro-oncology consultations, managing an outpatient brain tumor clinic, and working alongside specialists in neurosurgery, radiation oncology, hematology/oncology, neuroradiology, and neuropathology, while also engaging in multidisciplinary CNS tumor care.

Our rapidly expanding Neuro-Oncology Program boasts one of the highest clinical volumes of brain tumors in New York City, featuring active clinical trials through our cancer institute and a growing array of multidisciplinary brain tumor initiatives across the health system. Additionally, we are a founding member of the New York Proton Center.

The department also runs a UCNS-accredited Neuro-Oncology Fellowship Training Program, offering significant teaching opportunities for neurology residents, neuro-oncology fellows, and medical students. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver both inpatient and outpatient neuro-oncology services.

• Engage in inpatient neuro-oncology consultation services.

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary CNS tumor program.

• Participate in the education of residents, fellows, and medical students.

• Contribute to clinical trials and academic projects as needed.

• Work alongside colleagues throughout the health system.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• An MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

• Board certification or eligibility in Neurology.

• Completed fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology.

• UCNS board certification or eligibility in Neuro-Oncology.

• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.

Preferred candidates will exhibit strong clinical skills, professionalism, effective communication, organizational capabilities, and a team-oriented approach to neuro-oncology care. The academic rank and salary will be aligned with experience and qualifications.

Compensation ranges from $250,000 to $300,000 (excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits).
