The Sr. Instructional Designer serves as a senior practitioner within the Compliance & Ethics team, with accountability across instructional design, learning technology, and vendor management. The role shares a portfolio of legally required trainings supporting Legal Affairs and serves as the team's subject matter expert on learning technology platforms, AI-assisted content development, and emerging tools that advance the efficiency and quality of the compliance training function. This is not a production-only role, it requires a strong foundation in instructional design theory and adult learning principles, paired with technical fluency across authoring tools, LMS platforms, and AI applications in learning. The ideal candidate brings both the learning science rigor to design effective compliance training and the technical appetite to own and evolve the tools and systems the team uses.What you’ll do in your role.Instructional DesignPartner with legal and regulatory subject matter experts to obtain, validate, and translate complex legal content into clear, measurable learning objectives.Apply instructional design theory and adult learning principles, including ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick's Model, to design effective, learner-centered compliance training.Design, develop, and maintain interactive eLearning courses, assessments, job aids, and supporting resources using Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), building to WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 accessibility standards.Conduct learner analysis to identify patterns in engagement, completion, and assessment performance that inform content design and program improvement.Review and redesign existing curriculum in response to regulatory changes, policy updates, and stakeholder-identified gaps. Develop new courses when required.Embed strong visual design and communication principles across all deliverables consistent with T-Mobile brand guidelines.Learning Technology & AIServe as the team's technical authority on learning technology platforms, authoring tools, and AI applications in instructional design.Proactively evaluate emerging AI tools for content development, translation, localization, and learner personalization.Support the team's AI integration efforts, identifying opportunities for maintenance automation and tool-assisted course development as enterprise capabilities become available.Partner with the Learning Coordinator on LMS platform capabilities, integrations, and content deployment.Advise the Director and Sr. Manager on learning technology strategy and tool investments.Maintain working proficiency in LMS administration, including publishing SCORM/xAPI content, managing course configurations, and pulling completion and performance data.Vendor ManagementServe as the team's primary vendor manager, owning the external vendor relationship including SOW development and administration, and billing oversight.Collaborate with vendors on instructional content and course development work, ensuring deliverables meet program standards and regulatory requirements.Program & Project CoordinationMaintain visibility across the compliance training portfolio, tracking active projects, timelines, and resource allocation.Manage multiple concurrent design projects using workback schedules and provide regular status reporting to leadership.Coordinate eLearning deployment with the Learning Coordinator, ensuring courses launch and function correctly within the LMS.The experience you’ll bring.4-7 years of relevant experience in eLearning development and instructional design, preferably within a legal, compliance, or regulatory environment.Strong command of instructional design theory and adult learning principles, with demonstrated ability to apply learning science to complex, content-heavy subject matter.Expert-level proficiency with Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise). Familiarity with other authoring tools (e.g., Synthesia, Vyond) and video editing or graphic design tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe suite) a plus.Working knowledge of LMS administration, including publishing and troubleshooting SCORM/xAPI content, sufficient to serve as backup coverage when needed.Genuine interest in and aptitude for the technical side of learning operations, including AI-assisted development and emerging learning technologies.Proven experience managing external vendor relationships, including contract or SOW administration.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, maintain workback schedules, and provide concise status reporting.Excellent stakeholder and subject matter expert management skills, with the ability to operate independently at an expert level across complex, cross-functional relationships.Knowledge of accessibility best practices, and WCAG 2.1 Guidelines and Section 508.Education• Bachelor's degree required.• Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Instructional Technology preferred.At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesTravel:Travel Required (Yes/No): NoDOT Regulated:DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): NoSafety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): NoTotal Target Cash Earnings Opportunity: $83,030 - $149,845National Base Pay Range: $72,200 - $130,300The Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity represents the expected total cash compensation for this role at target performance, combining base salary and annual incentive opportunity. The candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. To find the pay range for this role based on hiring location, T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on individual and/or company performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
