Senior AI Engineer

To support the development of reliable AI capabilities, the full-time Senior AI Engineer will build production AI systems focused on model orchestration and decision-making processes, working remotely with the option to collaborate in-person at the Manhattan office. Key responsibilities Design and implement the decision layer for agent responses, determining the appropriate execution approach for various tasks Evaluate and select models based on measurable outcomes such as task success, quality, and latency to inform model-selection decisions Integrate models and APIs safely, ensuring compliance with authentication and authorization protocols while managing failure scenarios Required qualifications Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience 10+ years of professional experience in building, testing, and deploying production software, particularly AI or ML applications Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript, including modern software engineering practices Practical experience with AI engineering, including LLM tool calling and workflow orchestration Ability to evaluate model performance based on task success, latency, reliability, and cost metrics Virtual Vocations Inc
