Structural Biologist III

Ambry Genetics seeks a Structural Biologist III to develop structural biology methods and tools that support clinical variant interpretation. The role combines research, software development, and team leadership across cross-functional projects in a clinical genomics setting.
Responsibilities
- Interpret structure-function relationships to support variant analyses and clinical decision-making
- Develop novel methods, protocols, and tools for structural modeling and molecular dynamics
- Collaborate with statisticians and data scientists to validate algorithms and workflows
- Lead the structural biology team and coordinate cross-functional efforts across bioinformatics and R&D
- Write production-grade code following software development standards and maintain technical documentation
Requirements
- PhD in computational biology, structural biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, or equivalent field
- Minimum 5 years R&D experience in computational structural biology or related disciplines
- At least 2 years post-doctoral or industrial experience in structural biology
- 2 years management or team leadership experience
- Proficiency in Python, R, Perl, C/C++, Java, or SQL
- Strong background in molecular dynamics, systems biology, and experimental techniques (X-ray, Cryo-EM)
- Familiarity with bioinformatics and structural modeling software
Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000
