Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator

MSAD 55 Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator The Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator will be responsible for the overall administration, supervision, and coordination of early childhood special education programs within the district. This role involves coordinating a mixed delivery system that ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, providing leadership and support to staff, and fostering positive relationships with families and community partners. Requirements and Qualifications Strong understanding of special education state and federal regulations Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to build strong relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues Ability to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment Current Maine Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification (282), Assistant Administrator of Special Education Certification (035), or Administrator of Special Education Certification (030) Performance Responsibilities (not necessarily limited to) Partner with the Director of Special Education to oversee Part B transition Collaborate with the comprehensive special education team to create a cohesive delivery model in compliance with state and federal standards for early childhood learners Case-manage all IEP related paperwork for Pre-K 3, 4, and 5 year old (AWNs, Written Notices, IEPs and referral related documents) Coordinate early childhood special education referral, assessment, and programming in accordance with the district’s special education policies and procedures at the direction of the Director of Special Education Assist the Director of Special Education with the supervision and evaluation of probationary and continuing contract early childhood special education personnel Initiate, prepare, and facilitate various professional development activities to support continued development of early childhood educators EOE #J-18808-Ljbffr
