STUDENT: Programming Intern/KTIS Radio

Student: Programming Intern

Gain valuable hands-on experience and complete learning objectives in Programming at KTIS Radio.

This position is available for internship credit. This position will be hired for the 2026-2027 Academic Year, with the option to continue into Summer 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with coordination and execution of the KTIS radio show
• Support communications by answering calls and managing caller/winner data
• Create and edit audio and video content (audiograms, interviews, segments, podcast) for on-air and social media use
• Gather and organize show prep, including news and listener audio
• Coordinate and record interviews with authors and artists
• Participate in programming meetings to support brand growth and audience engagement
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Junior credit standing or higher
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Able to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, tactful and courteous manner
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Punctuality & Initiative: Prompt, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting responsibilities.
• Background Check: Must pass background check as a condition of employment.

Work Environment:

The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university or Christian owned and operated radio station alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of Northwestern, and an agreement to abide by all Northwestern policies.
