Registered Nurse (Part-time)

Registered Nurse (Part-time)Outreach is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our outpatient facility. The RN assesses health related needs of the clients by monitoring ongoing health and wellbeing. The RN directly provides and/or coordinates health services and health-related activities for clients. The nurse provides on call nursing for times when we do not have a nurse on site and serves as the health care coordinator.Essential Duties:Conduct assessments of substance abusers and family members to determine appropriateness for participation in treatment, need for physical exam or other medical services.Follows up on any health-related referrals made.Maintain a tracking system to monitor patient health issues, medical appointments, and prescribed medications (internal/external).Provides patient education and counseling around health issues.Complete all needed documentation and reports in a timely manner. Informs Program leadership (Director, Asst. Director, and/or Coordinator) of any problems or anticipated inability to meet deadlines.Interacting with staff, clients, students and visitors in a courteous, professional and respectful manner that is consistent with the agency's mission and values.Minimum Requirements:NYS Registered Nurse (RN).Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse working in a related treatment, therapeutic community, community residence, and/or mental health setting working directly with special populations required.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in a substance use disorder treatment facility setting preferred.Position StatusThis is a part-time, non-exempt position.
