Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary The Sr. Electrical Engineer will provide comprehensive electrical engineering services to support the design and delivery of construction projects for a diverse range of clients. You will be working on projects in healthcare, military, airports and municipal facilities. This role involves leading and managing design efforts, preparing detailed construction documents, and coordinating closely with architects, owners, and other project stakeholders to ensure high‑quality and efficient electrical systems. Responsibilities Lead the design effort on large and small projects Manage design schedules and design team members Interact and work directly with architects and owners Conduct preliminary evaluations Prepare various reports and meeting minutes Produce design documents (drawings and specifications) Travel for projects nationally and internationally as needed Conduct design reviews to assure adherence to applicable codes, company standards, and project requirements Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering with Professional Engineer (PE) registration Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and coordination/arc flash studies Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code Strong knowledge of Building Codes, applicable NFPA Codes, and Energy Codes Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Ability to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects US citizenship Compensation $110–130K Location & Travel Charlotte, NC – 10% travel nationally and internationally Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays Wellness programs and employee assistance resources Equal Opportunity Employment Statement Salas O’Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, colour, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, provincial, or local laws.
