Lead IT Systems Engineer

Salary: $103,711 - 152,109 per year Requirements:

• Were looking for someone with 5+ years of current Linux systems engineering and troubleshooting experience, ideally with Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky.
• You should bring 3+ years of Kubernetes experience, including building Helm charts and deploying workloads on Kubernetes.
• You need at least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
• We expect 5+ years of Elasticsearch experience, including indexing, clustering, administration, and troubleshooting.
• You should have 5+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• You should have working knowledge of computer network operations, network access and protection methods, security, encryption, and cross-domain solutions.
• You must be available 24/7 for network outages and maintenance windows.
• You should be able to work effectively with coworkers and customers to resolve technical issues.
• You must be willing and able to travel.

• We lead and contribute to multiple team environments while managing all phases of system integration, including design, analysis, design review, testing, implementation, and validation.
• We recommend optimized technical approaches that support both current needs and long-range planning.
• We collaborate with project leads to select, propose, and approve tools and technologies that improve efficiency, lower costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• We monitor, analyze, and resolve incidents for infrastructure running in Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services.
• We deploy, configure, and administer systems in Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services.
• We support and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containers.
• We design requirements-driven technical solutions for new initiatives and help transition those solutions into production.
• We evaluate, build, integrate, test, and prepare systems for operational use, including patching for rapid remediation and deployment.
• We install or rebuild systems and configure hardware, peripherals, settings, directories, storage, and related components according to standards and project requirements.
• We use automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to improve operational efficiency.
• We gather and analyze metrics and customer feedback to define system requirements.
• We assess future technologies and methodologies that can expand capabilities.
• We develop and execute test plans and procedures based on security and functional requirements.
• We analyze, design, recommend, implement, and support cost-effective IPS/IDS protection systems.
• We work with Unix scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl, or advanced KSH scripting.
• We operate systems and platforms including VMware vSphere ESXi, Virtual Center, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services.
• We support due diligence activities such as site surveys, design reviews, bill of materials creation, statements of work, vendor coordination, proposal generation, and delivery.
• We maintain existing applications by fixing defects, upgrading versions, and adding new functionality.
• We quickly develop new applications when needed, following established best practices.
• We review current applications for issues such as poor performance and deprecated dependencies, then create remediation plans.
• We keep applications current with the latest programming language versions and releases.
• We test applications to confirm new features work properly and that fixes do not introduce regressions.
• We mentor teammates and help them learn new technologies.
• We provide fast operational support, troubleshooting, and resolution for production equipment.
