ABR is recruiting a 1st shift welder for a client in Wausau. Starting wage is $25 per hour. Hours are 1st shift, Monday - Friday.

Welder Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures

• Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings and follow verbal directions to determine the specific welding requirements.
• Lays out/positions parts by using templates or reading measurements.
• Performs welding processes based on specifications from blueprints, drawings or verbal directions.
• Performs hand grinding and polishing.
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Performs Daily Pre-shift Checklist.

Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary. A solid understanding of aluminum, TIG, and MIG welding concepts and processes is required. Must be able to read a ruler and be able to operate common hand tools, air tools, drills, sanders, grinders, etc. Communication & Influence: Communicates with contacts typically within the immediate work unit on matters that typically involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation. Problem Solving & Complexity: Problems and issues faced are routine and solutions clearly prescribed. Follows a well-established and familiar set of activities and/or process to derive a solution. May have responsibility for checking data and information for minor changes.
