Exciting Opportunity for ICU RNs!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: High need for Sunday shifts
- Unit: Mixed ICU (Medical and CV) - 4th Floor
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:1, 1:2 for ICU level acuity
- 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity
- Required Certifications:
- WA or Compact License
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- CRRN, PCCN preferred (not required)
- Common Diagnoses/Patient Types:
- Sepsis, COPD, COVID, pneumonia
- Withdrawal, strokes post-TNK administration
- CRRT, IABP, Impella, PA catheters
- Arctic sun for post-cardiac arrest
- Immediate open-heart recovery
- Overflow from cath lab
- Post-surgical longer recovery
- Experience/Skills Required:
- Minimum of 2 years in ICU
- Specialty skills preferred (e.g., management of Swans, Prismaflex CRRT, IABP)
- Titration of Drips: Yes, all ICU drips, sedation, vasoactive medications, paralytics, etc.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor:
- Charge and resource nurse on every shift
- No patient load for charge nurse
- Nurse Aids Ratio: CNA's 1:12; may assist with 1:1 sitters
- In-House Support:
- Hospitalist or Intensivist available 24/7
- Dedicated pharmacy services until 11, then house pharmacy
- RT dedicated to ICU 24/7
- RT Equipment Available:
- CPAP, BiPAP, Vents
- Telemonitoring:
- Yes, ICU nurses required to manage and interpret monitor readings
- Shifts & Scheduling:
- Self-scheduling with a six-week review process
- Floating Requirements:
- Floating between critical care floors or to ER for patient holds
- Dress Code:
- Any professional color scrubs
- Orientation:
- Epic training and onboarding, including 1 shift with a preceptor
- Candidate Qualities:
- Flexible, team player mentality
