Behavior Technician

ESS Clinical is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team full-time and make an immediate impact within New Hanover County Schools in Wilmington, NC. This role supports students receiving special services by addressing maladaptive behaviors, improving coping and problem-solving skills, and increasing access to learning in the least restrictive environment. The Behavior Technician works under the supervision of the assigned principal and in collaboration with Special Services leadership, providing direct student services, staff collaboration, and professional development. Pay starting at $29/hr W2 Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Must be at least 18 years of age. Completion of required RBT training and competency assessment. Ability to successfully pass a background check. Previous experience working with children, individuals with autism, or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills. Ability to follow individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including working with clients in a variety of settings. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for positions involving in-home or community-based services.
