Join a compassionate team as an Advanced Behavioral Health Technician in a busy Emergency Department located in the Southeastern United States. This role involves providing attentive patient care, monitoring behavioral health patients, and supporting nursing staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver routine patient care including observation, vital signs monitoring, and assisting with daily living activities.
• Support new admissions by conducting contraband searches, orienting patients, and securing belongings.
• Assist with patient transfers and discharges, ensuring proper documentation and care continuity.
• Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques effectively to maintain safety.
• Facilitate therapeutic group activities and community meetings to promote patient engagement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in educational initiatives and performance improvement efforts.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training and certification to be completed within 30 days of employment.

Experience:

• Preferred: Minimum of 2 years psychiatric experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Competency in working with mental health patients across age groups.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
• Physical ability to perform duties including bending, standing, walking, and assisting patients.
