Plant Manager

Position Summary As part of the executive management team, the Plant Manager, will oversee all aspects of the plant processing operation including procurement, scheduling, processing, personnel, shipping and quality controls. Specializing in both general management and project management, the Plant Manager will be responsible for; Executing business strategies by creating or improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance Providing effective leadership for the operational team, including plant personnel, contractors and suppliers Creating and maintaining strong working relationships with all government personnel and regulatory bodies Maintaining a strong quality control culture as it relates to HACCP and Kosher quality standards Maintaining a strong safety culture and monitoring safety processes/training Monitoring departmental performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made and that corrective action is taken if necessary Meeting regularly with department leaders and facilitating resolution of issues/problems between business units Recruiting, hiring, terminations and performance management Managing the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers Developing and enhancing policies, procedures and service systems to meet the goals of the department Budget preparation and monitoring of the department P&L Monitoring financial performance to ensure the department is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment Analyzing and reporting on the daily, monthly and annually department's key performance indicators and industry trends Handling Customer enquiries and complaints which are escalated from the departments Ensuring employees adhere to company policies and procedures Ensuring employees comply with all relevant government regulations Qualifications: A big picture thinker, the Plant Manager has an acute understanding of all aspects of the operation at all times, its goals and priorities. To this end, the Plant Manager possesses the following qualifications and characteristics; Minimum 10 years’ management experience in the food processing industry University Degree or combined diploma and experience Excellent online and field research skills Written and Verbal presentation skills Strong knowledge of and dedication to processing quality standards, regulations and best practices Strong knowledge of and dedication to safety standards, regulations and best practices Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills We Provide a highly competitive base salary and benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
