Reimbursement Specialist II

Reimbursement Specialist II Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Reimbursement Specialist II to prepare Medicare, Champus, and Chapter 160 cost reports, oversee reimbursement compliance, conduct research, and perform related financial analyses. Responsibilities This is a Hybrid Position* Preparation of the Medicare, Chapter 160 and Champus cost reports for select hospitals. Coordination and accumulation of information needed for the Home Health Agency and Home Office cost reports. Coordination and accumulation of statistical data. Coordination and accumulation of Interns & Residents schedules and all required personal data, including preparation of the IRIS. Coordination and support of the Wage Index submission to CMS, acting as point person for Wage Index audits. Assistance with NJ DSH and Occupational Mix Surveys. Coordinating any bad debt audits by working with Patient Accounting. Research via internet, publications, reimbursement manuals to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement strategies. Support with select Medicare and Medicaid audits, acting as point person. Review audit adjustments and communicate with outside auditors to resolve issues. Software input of cost report data. Perform financial analysis of relevant reimbursement issues as they arise. Assist with completion of Form 990, Schedule H. Maintain hospital IACS access to generate PS&R settlement data. Special projects and other duties assigned by Management. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics. 2-3 years hospital reimbursement experience, including preparation of cost reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent analytical skills and ability to complete detailed workpapers for an audit trail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of the organization. Compensation and Benefits The starting rate of pay is $83,782.40 Annually (minimum). Compensation is benchmarked against market data and adjusted based on experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Eligible positions may receive performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions, and may receive shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
