Travel RN - ICUAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a mixed acuity unit position requiring AL or compact RN license and prior ICU experience.Mixed acuity 18-bed unit combining intermediate care and non-vented ICU level patients.Patient population includes neurological and post-procedural cases (post TNK, neuro IR procedures, embolizations, angiography, hemorrhages/aneurysms, burr holes, VP shunts, craniotomy/craniectomy, lumbar drains, spinal cord injuries, EVDs, continuous EEG, neuro/spine surgery).Also treats respiratory failure, CHF, hypotension, sepsis, AMS, acute neurological diagnoses, DKA, and electrolyte abnormalities.RN to patient ratio of 1:3 based on acuity, CNA ratio of 1:12.Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs/Resparray monitors.12-hour day and night shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) on a 6-week schedule cycle, totaling 48 hours per week.Weekend rotation required every other weekend, with rare back-to-back weekends.No on-call responsibilities.Floating required to like units/patient locations (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds, ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task with a limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds).Support staff includes CNAs, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, rapid response team, dedicated resource nurse/educator, and 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage.New-to-facility travelers and return travelers absent 1+ years receive 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours on the unit.Rehire orientation length depends on last date worked at the facility.Holiday coverage required for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved on the traveler's behalf, excluding facility blackout dates requiring nurse manager approval.Any scrub color permitted.Free on-campus and parking deck parking available.Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.Previous permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered for a travel assignment.
