Opto-Mechanical Designer
Virtual Vocations Inc
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Opto-Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing and modeling mechanical components that interface with optical elements, developing detailed drawings, and supporting optical subsystem integration and testing. Key responsibilities: Design and model mechanical mounts and systems for optical components such as lenses and mirrors Develop assembly and test procedures while supporting optical subsystem integration and testing Conduct analysis of design concepts to assess development and manufacturing risks, proposing mitigation strategies Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with 3 years of experience or 7+ years of related experience T/SCI Secret Clearance Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX) for mechanical design and modeling Experience with all phases of opto-mechanical subsystem development, including conceptual design and assembly drawings Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations and support project-level reviews
