Experienced Clinical Nurses Needed

The Nursing Resource Pool is looking for experienced clinical nurses with the flexibility to float to PACU and IR. Orientation will be provided to ensure competency across specialty areas.

The Nursing Resource Pool (NRP) provides excellent opportunities for experienced oncology nurses to work in a friendly, team-oriented environment. We assist the hospital to fill staffing needs to each unit as assessed on a shift to shift basis. With a continuous change in census and acuity throughout the hospital, the NRP staff is flexible and is trained to provide safe, effective, patient and family-centered care.

Essential job functions include: accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area, assessing patient's needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, other services, patient and patient's family to plan care and evaluate outcomes, improving practice by integrating results and theories of research studies, participating in data collection for current studies, demonstrating clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, documenting care according to established standards, accessing, inputting and retrieving information from computer systems, assuring continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights, training, coaching and assisting team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.

Education:

• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license. Upon Hire and
• Required: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire and
• Required: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160). Upon Hire
• Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification Upon Hire
• Preferred: Certification in specialty practice area. Upon Hire
