Overview
Speech Language Pathologist — Acute Care | Fredericksburg, VA, United States. Start date 09/07/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay: $556-$597 per week with guaranteed 35 hours. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust goals based on patient response.
- Provide direct therapy to individuals and groups and document therapy activities, progress, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Perform bedside swallow evaluations and, as appropriate, deliver swallowing rehabilitation to improve safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, physicians, occupational therapy, dietary, social work) to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, and safe swallowing strategies; support transition planning.

Requirements
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in Virginia or eligible for licensure
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility and participate in a travel assignment
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
- Effective communication and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team
- Proficiency with documentation in electronic medical records and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Experience in acute care or SNF settings is preferred but not required
