This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

\n

\n Registered Respiratory Therapists provide evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Registered Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD, and lung cancer. The Registered Respiratory Therapists floats to multiple Cleveland Clinic locations to perform respiratory care services for the geriatric, adult, and pediatric population in a variety of inpatient settings like critical care, obstetrics, ED (Emergency Department), and behavioral health.

A caregiver in this position works nights, from 6:30pm—7:00am, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.  

\n

\n

Caregivers in this role will float to multiple locations, and are eligible for incentive float pay.

\n

\n A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Implement and monitor patient care plans.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.  

\n

\n \n

\n Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Minimum 1 year experience in critical care. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care.

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification. 

\n

\n \n

\n

• \n

  Skills: active listening, collaboration, adaptability, critical thinking, accountability, independent working and receptive to feedback.

Physical Requirements:

  Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

\n
• \n

  Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

\n
• \n

  May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.

\n
• \n

  Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $36.75

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $48.55

\n

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
