*What you’ll do*

* Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and air brake systems to ensure optimal performance.
* Perform routine maintenance on various heavy equipment.
* Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and conduct diagnostics effectively.
* Execute fabrication tasks and welding projects as needed to enhance equipment functionality.
* Maintain detailed records of repairs, services performed, and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.

*Basic qualifications*

* Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and automotive repair.
* Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment.

*Preferred qualifications*

* Experience working in a small family owned company as a technician is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
* Strong understanding of hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, alignment, HVAC systems, and brake repair techniques.
* Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform tire services as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
