Single subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject A valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate, or the ability to obtain one with the appropriate endorsement(s). Valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, or the ability to obtain one. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices. This individual will exhibit the skills pertinent to fostering positive human relationshipsand the ability to work effectively with teachers and staff. Ability to facilitate learning, professional develolpment, instructional oversight, and coaching. Ability to deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons across disciplines. Relevant teaching experience Work Environment & Physical Requirements Reports to: Building Principal Work Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time May supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, and outdoor spaces. Normal 4-8 hour workdays, except professional development, and extracurricular activities may extend work hours. Engaging with diverse teachers, classroom observations, modeling lessons, curriculum support and mapping, and addressing learning differences. May spend long hours standing and walking around the classroom or school premises. May need to lift books, teaching materials, and classroom supplies weighing 20 lbs. or more at times. Work Responsbilities Planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Prioritize classroom visits in order to support teachers and assist with their retention. Support teachers in the daily implementation of all curriculum and instructional related elements. Ability to create and maintain positive and supportive relationships with the School Leader and school staff. Conduct classroom walkthroughs and observations for the purpose of support, identifying areas of strength and opportunity, and identify professional development needs of classroom teachers. Provide meaningful feedback to teachers. Select appropriate instructional practices for various student groups in support of all teachers. Familiar with a variety of instruments, technology tools, and other resources for assessing and enhancing student performance. Knowledge of how to train staff to map and align the curriculum. Ensure alignment between the locally implemented curriculum and Arizona State Standards. Disaggregate student data for instructional planning and professional development. Ensure alignment between the written, implemented, and assessed curriculum; and provide support in the development of pacing guides. Ensure the development of weekly lesson plans; mentor teachers in the development and implementation of those lesson plans. Meet with teachers on a weekly basis during PLC, 1:1 sessions, or on an as needed basis. Assist teachers in using data to design student instruction and assessment. Actively attend and participate in all scheduled curriculum coach meetings and related best practices activities/opportunities. Willingness to share acquired knowledge through formal and informal professional development opportunities.
