Position Title: Physical Therapist (Full-Time and Part-Time positions) FLSA: Exempt Salary: Physical Therapist Salary Schedule Work Days: Full-Time: 190 days / Part-Time 19 hours max. weekly Location: TBD Reports To: Executive Director, Program for Exceptional Students Primary Function: Provides services to students eligible for related services; improves, develops, restores or maintains a child’s motor function in educational environments, functions as “related service personnel” under state and federal law regulations. Requirements Educational Level: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program Certification/License: Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the State of Georgia; Valid GA Driver's License Experience: Prefer one year clinical experience in physical/occupational therapy including pediatrics Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Identification of physical impairments/delays Treatment planning specific to pediatrics Interventions such as facilitation of developmental motor skills Postural awareness, ambulation and gait training Cardiovascular function Wheelchair mobility Adaptation or modification of equipment Environmental assessment Recommendation and monitoring of orthoses and assistive devices Prevention of initial or additional deformity or disability Transportation needs of students Essential Duties Conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for related services under IDEA and prepare written reports of findings Participate in meetings as a member of the multidisciplinary team Participate in the development of IEP or 504 plans for eligible students Provide direct and indirect physical therapy in education settings Collaborate with other personnel regarding physical therapy and the students’ needs Delegate activities to teachers, parents, and paraprofessionals Train/instruct teachers, parents and paraprofessionals in delegated techniques and equipment use Travel to and among schools to provide services Maintain records of service provided Lift, transfer, and position children and equipment as necessary Supervise PTA as needed Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
