Lactation Consultant

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days, 8 hours, Monday through Friday.

This position is responsible for providing expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. For patients needing advanced lactation support, the Lactation Consultant will formulate an interdisciplinary plan of care and communicate with the care team regarding these goals and plans.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert consultation and support for lactation management.
• Develop and implement interdisciplinary care plans for patients with advanced lactation support needs.
• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must be a Massachusetts licensed Lactation Consultant.
• Minimum of 1+ years experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required.
• A minimum of 2500 hours as a breastfeeding consultant required.
• Experience with inpatient lactation programs is required.
• Outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, consultations, and/or teaching experience required.
• Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Board Certification must be in hand at profile upload.
