Diesel MechanicGary, INShift - Mon- Friday 1st or 2nd shiftPay - $28-$38 per hourRequirements:Servicing of gasoline and diesel powered buses from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full vehicle serviceDiagnose mechanical defects and carries out a preventive maintenance programMajor and minor overhaul of engines and transmissionsService and maintain brakes, air compressors, fuel systems, ignitions, HVAC systems and Wheel Chair liftsService and maintain vehicle air conditioning unitsInspects and repairs school buses per DOT requirementsKeep records of time and materials usedEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:Medium duty bus experience, International Truck/Bus preferredMust have own set of toolsKnowledge of the provisions of codes and laws relating to pupil transportation (i.e. IDOT inspections)CDL class B License with air brake endorsement preferred A/C CertificationExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersMust be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion in a timely mannerPhysical Requirements:Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance as attendance is an essential function of the positionMust be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephoneMust be able to lift and carry 50 lbsLAUNCH offers all full-time employees the opportunity to enroll in various medical and ancillary benefit plans to allow each employee to find a plan that works best for themselves and their family.* LAUNCH also offers a 401(k) program with a company match.
