SKILLED LABORER

Primary Purpose Assists carpenters, operators and foreman with the construction of concrete formwork and rebar, installation of sanitary and storm systems, placing gravel and concrete for structures. Typical Duties Perform hand excavation with picks, shovels and rakes and lift and carry construction products on the jobsite. Work in dusty, muddy and outdoor elements. Erects scaffolds, uses ladders and must abide by and be competent with OSHA rules and regulations that apply to general construction and heavy construction. Must possess ability to safely use and maintain power tools, including power saws, drills, abrasive saws, tapes and lifting devices. Must safely work around heavy equipment, such as excavators, dump trucks, skid steer loaders, water pumps and electric generators. Workers should possess on the jobsite at all times basic tools, such as a hammer, tape measure, pencils, nail apron, and pliers. Physically, worker must be able to climb and balance on scaffolds and ladders and lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Regular lifting of 50 lbs. can be expected. Stoop, kneel and crawl in small or confined spaces. Needs to understand basic verbal and safety instruction in English, work in a team environment with positive and productive results.
