Athletic Trainer

Overview The Club Sports Athletic Trainer provides on-site injury prevention, evaluation, and basic care for Utah State University Club Sports athletes. This position supports a wide range of competitive club teams, ensuring safe participation, proper documentation, and clear communication with athletes and staff. The role is hands-on, student-focused, and requires strong organization and professionalism. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Club Sports Coordinator, student leaders, and campus partners to maintain a safe environment during practices, competitions, and events. - Provide on-site athletic training coverage for club sports practices, home competitions, and selected events.
- Evaluate injuries and provide appropriate first aid, taping, bracing, and basic treatment.
- Determine return-to-play recommendations within scope of practice and refer athletes to appropriate medical providers when needed.
- Maintain accurate injury documentation and communicate updates to athletes and Club Sports staff.
- Manage medical kits and supplies, ensuring equipment is stocked and organized.
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, stretching, hydration, and safe training habits.
- Assist with emergency action plans and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with club officers and coaches to support safe practice planning and event operations.
- Attend required staff trainings and maintain certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Experience in basic first aid, sports medicine support, or working with athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, coaches, and staff.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for club events.
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) or in progress toward certification.
- Experience working with club sports, high school sports, or recreational athletes.
- Familiarity with injury documentation systems or willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and schedules.
- Knowledge of basic risk management practices in sport settings.
