TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Hiring Agency: Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command Department: Department of the Air Force Location: Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts The primary purpose of this position is: to perform technical work for the planning, purchase, control, utilization and maintenance of radios (i.e., Land Mobile Radios , tactical radios), and specialized communications systems. Key Responsibilities Serves as the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Program Manager as well as the program manager for other radio and specialized communications equipment. Serves as frequency manager, regulating and coordinating Radio Frequency Authorizations (RFA). Administers the LMR, tactical radio and assigned cryptographic equipment Communications Security (COMSEC) program and serves as a COMSEC account custodian. Administers contracts for preventative maintenance. Maintains statistical data to monitor contractor performance and budgetary requirements. Provides technical support, control and "first look" maintenance for all base Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and other related telecommunications equipment (ie, cryptograph). An accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
