Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a Family Birth Center (Labor & Delivery) setting, supporting approximately 150–175 births per year
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:4 depending on census and acuity
• During cesarean sections, provide newborn care with the assistance of Respiratory Therapy and Anesthesia
• Float to MedSurg/Med-Med primarily for tasking when the unit census requires additional support
• Participate in holiday coverage on a rotating basis consistent with permanent staff scheduling
• Operate within a Cerner EMR environment; charge nurse responsibilities may apply

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Advanced AWHONN certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Comfort working as the sole or one of very few L&D nurses on site, with a second nurse available on call
• Experience in small or critical access hospital environments
• Familiarity with patient transfer protocols for high-risk or premature deliveries (?36 weeks gestation)
