FARO Arm Inspector Automotive & Defense PTM Corporation Location: Fair Haven, MI Full-Time Join PTM Corporation's Quality Team PTM Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented FARO Arm Inspector to support our Automotive and Defense manufacturing programs. In this role, you'll use FARO Arm portable CMM technology, PolyWorks software, and precision measuring equipment to inspect prototype and production components, fixtures, and assemblies. If you have experience with portable CMM inspection, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and quality assurance, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing prototype manufacturing company where precision matters. What You'll Do Perform dimensional inspections of prototype and production parts, check fixtures, weld fixtures, and assemblies using a FARO Arm Portable CMM. Utilize PolyWorks software and 3D CAD models to complete inspections and analyze dimensional data. Verify manufactured parts meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and GD&T requirements. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Generate inspection reports and communicate dimensional results to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. Perform visual inspections to identify defects, inconsistencies, or non-conforming conditions. Document inspection results and report quality concerns in accordance with company procedures. Use precision inspection equipment including: Calipers Micrometers Height Gauges Other precision measuring instruments Support continuous improvement by identifying quality trends and recommending corrective actions. Follow ISO 9001, AS9100, and internal quality management procedures. Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation. Qualifications Required Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using a FARO Arm or other portable CMM inspection equipment. Experience with PolyWorks inspection software. Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer specifications. Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Experience inspecting prototype or low-volume manufactured parts. Experience with PC-DMIS and traditional bridge CMMs. Weld inspection experience. Weld destructive testing experience. Ultrasonic testing (UT) experience. Exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems. Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent manufacturing experience. Why PTM Corporation?
