Paint And Body TechnicianUnder routine supervision, this position is responsible for performing intermediate level body repairs. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, rebuilding, repairing, and painting of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.Key Responsibilities:Inspect damaged or wrecked equipment and perform valuations to create cost estimates for repairsRebuild and paint wrecked trucks, hoods, and body parts with special focus on fiberglass and cosmetic repairsDemonstrate proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as it pertains tractor maintenance including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems and FHWA InspectionsAccurately perform intermediate level repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesTroubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed Understand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all timesParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairsAdhere to safety standards and procedures including maintaining respirator logOperate wrecker to move trucks into shop to be repaired • Perform post-maintenance diagnostics and testingShift Schedule: Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs.In addition to the company benefits listed below, the maintenance team will also have access to:Career growth opportunitiesCompany-provided uniforms and annual boot programSafety culture with bonus incentivesTechnicians can gain new skills and grow their opportunities through J.B. Hunt's Technician Career Advancement (TCA) programQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in body repair/ Semi-Tractor maintenance and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if neededA/C CertificationAt least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakesPreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in body repair/ Semi-Tractor maintenance and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if neededAbility to communicate (written and verbal) effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to multitaskAbility to read documents and/or information in EnglishAbility to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamProficient active listening skillsProficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computerProficient deductive reasoning skillsProficient organizational skillsProficient problem solving skillsProficient time management skillsThe expected starting pay range for this position is between $26.80 - $38.18.$2,000.00 sign-on bonus available for a limited time.Don't let distance keep you from becoming a part of our team!
