Clinical Duties

(may include, but are not limited to): Taking medical histories Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examinations Assisting the physician during examinations Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens Performing basic laboratory tests (Strep/COVID/Flu) Instructing patients about medication and special diets Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant) Transmitting prescription refills as directed Taking electrocardiograms Wound care and changing dressings - Assist healthcare providers in documenting patient encounters by accurately and efficiently transcribing medical information into electronic medical records (EMRs) - Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient visits - Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines when handling sensitive patient information - Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy and completeness, making necessary corrections as needed - Organize and manage medical records, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible for healthcare providers

```Experience``` - Certification as a medical assistant (CCMA or CMA) is highly preferred - Familiarity with family practice, pediatrics, or medical fields is a plus - Proficient in typing and using computer systems, including EMR software - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology - Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe medical information - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively
