Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) Therapist

Overview Potomac Pediatrics is seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who can provide compassionate and collaborative therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and young adults. This position provides weekly clinical supervision and requires a desire to work towards independent clinical licensure. In addition to clinical supervision, further opportunities for training will be available. Job Duties Provides quality therapy to assigned patient caseload. Conducts intake assessments, assesses medical and clinical status of patients, and establishes appropriate diagnosis according to DSM-5 standards and definitions. Develops treatment plans based on intake and diagnosis to establish clear and measurable goals and objectives for client treatment. Interfaces and collaborates with Staff Psychiatrist, patient’s Pediatrician and other clinical staff as needed. Ensures clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner throughout the course of treatment Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master of Social Work from college or university accredited by the Council of Social Work Education Active Maryland Social Worker license (LMSW) required and demonstrated interest in working towards an independent clinical license (LCSW-C) Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in mental health and substance abuse Knowledge of psychosocial disorders, diagnoses, therapies, and childhood development Ability to diagnosis patients utilizing the DSM-5 Demonstrated interest in working with children, adolescents and young adults in a therapeutic setting.
