Title: Maintenance Supervisor Job Code: 3104 Location: Share Medical Center Status: Full Time Department: Maintenance Supervisor: CEO Position Summary The Hospital Maintenance Worker is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, repair, and safe operation of hospital facilities, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. This role ensures the physical environment of the hospital remains safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards. The Maintenance Supervisor leads maintenance staff, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, and collaborates with leadership and department managers to maintain efficient hospital operations. Must be available for after-hours and weekend on-call rotation. Skills Demonstrates strong leadership, coaching, and staff development abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction practices Communicates clearly and effectively with staff, leadership, vendors, and departments Exhibits strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to safety standards Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license in good standing Current BLS Certification (Must obtain within 90 days of hire) 3+ years experience performing maintenance for a large facility Previous healthcare or medical facility maintenance experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Key Responsibilities Oversee and perform general routine and preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the Hospital and Homestead facilities systems and equipment. Participate in committees, meetings, and performance improvement initiatives. Participate in an after‑hours and weekend on‑call rotation with other maintenance team members. Must be able to respond to maintenance calls and report to the facility within 30 minutes when on‑call. Supervise and perform maintenance and repair of systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Ensure all new equipment is inspected, tagged, and entered into asset tracking systems. Collaborate with leadership to assess facility needs and equipment performance. Respond promptly to facility‑related emergencies and ensure timely resolution. Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and on‑call coverage to meet facility needs. Assist in budget preparation, expense monitoring, and resource management. Supervise, evaluate, and support maintenance staff to ensure high performance. Coordinate and evaluate external contractors and service providers as needed. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, lighting, outlets, and basic wiring issues. Maintain and repair plumbing systems including fixtures, piping, and drains. Oversee building renovations, remodeling, and construction projects. Perform groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal, and general exterior upkeep. Respond promptly to maintenance work order requests and document completion. Conduct routine safety inspections and maintain safety logs. Perform required testing of safety systems and equipment in accordance with regulatory standards. Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and workshop areas in safe working order. Ensure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, including utilization of SQSS (Strategic Quality Support System) for compliance tracking. Adhere to all hospital policy and procedure, follow HIPAA guidelines, available for duty in the event of a disaster, completes all required educational training and performs other job duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, with assistance if needed. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and reaching while performing tasks. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate tools, equipment, and documentation. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning agents, temperature changes, and facility noise. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Potential Hazards Exposure to hospital‑related hazards including blood‑borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, x‑ray/electromagnetic energy, electric shock, and chemicals.
