Phlebotomist – Full Time Day Shift Position Summary Phlebotomists collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients while adhering to established protocols to ensure proper sample collection and patient safety. They transport blood specimens to laboratory departments in accordance with proper procedures. They also conduct in‑service education programs related to phlebotomy techniques and perform related clerical work. Duties Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or incision techniques. Provide phlebotomy services in inpatient, outpatient, and off‑site areas per physician orders. Enter specimen data into a computer database; maintain appointment schedules and logs; record test results and file appropriately. Supervise, teach, and support medical technology students in phlebotomy theory and technique, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety procedures. Attend and/or present at hospital in‑service programs. Maintain inventory of supplies and materials needed for daily blood specimen collection. Participate in laboratory operations, including occasional shift substitution and extended shifts. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of phlebotomy experience, or a recognized phlebotomy certificate. Preferred: Prior hospital or laboratory experience and basic understanding of medical laboratory technology. Pay and Benefits Anticipated pay range: $40,391 per year. Salary may be adjusted based on experience. Additional compensation components may include location and geographic pay. Benefits include generous leave, health plans, and a state pension. Schedule Full‑time, day shift, Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Pass days: Saturday, Sunday.
