Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN ADN Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC (must be from AHA) Must-Have Skills/Experience: Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, Sepsis, Moderate Sedation Description: This is a backfill position for an Emergency Department Nurse. The facility is a 198-bed, Level III trauma center. It provides healthcare services to the surrounding region. Services include medical, surgical, and rehabilitation care. Additional services include a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, and behavioral health unit. The hospital has a state-of-the-art operating suite. Accreditations include PCI, mammography, and laboratory services. The unit features a team nursing and pod system. A social worker is assigned to the department, along with a unit educator. The unit consists of 48 beds with flexible patient space. Patient ratios are 4:1 in the main emergency department and 6:1 in the fast track area. Common diagnoses and treatments include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain. The emergency department is equipped with advanced technology such as Zoll defibrillators and ultrasound-guided IV systems. EHR used within the facility is Cerner. Weekend work is required, with a minimum of two weekends scheduled. There are no call requirements for this position. Preferred experience includes two years in an emergency department setting.
