Structural Engineer 5-Bridge Inspection Team Leader

Job Description Location: Latham, Poughkeepsie, or Syracuse, NY offices. Conduct biennial bridge inspections, documenting field conditions and ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. Coordinate with project management and quality control teams to maintain efficiency and accuracy. Review inspection reports for adherence to regulations and standards. Oversee Work Zone Traffic Control subcontractors for safe fieldwork. Perform confined space entries under supervision when necessary. Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, fostering their development within the firm. Supervise junior engineers on project‑specific tasks. Design and analyze reinforced concrete, structural steel, and other metal structures to meet client requirements during non‑inspection periods. Direct the development of models, drawings, and specifications. Ensure designs comply with regulations and firm policies. Represent the firm at conferences and events to enhance the visibility of products and services. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on specific duties and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with NYSDOT Biennial Bridge Inspections. Knowledge of NYSDOT or NHI 130055/130056 or NHI 130078 designations. Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of computer‑assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design. Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. Ability to arrange/layout structural systems and elements for strength, stability, constructability, and construction economy. Strong knowledge of engineering analysis/design software (e.g., Revit, STAAD, RISA). Travel 20% – 40% domestic and/or international travel required. Driving Requirements An appropriate and valid driver's license is required. Salary and Visa Pay range: USD 100,194 – 175,365. No visa sponsorship for U.S. positions.
