Location Legacy Montrose - 1415 California St. Houston, TX 77006 Job Overview As an Eligibility Specialist, you will be at the heart of our mission, ensuring that every individual has access to the healthcare they deserve. Your role is pivotal in guiding applicants through the process of obtaining third‑party reimbursement, ensuring they receive the care they need with empathy and clarity. Schedule Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM) Key Responsibilities Conduct eligibility assessments for clients, adhering to specific program guidelines. Verify that clients do not have other payer sources, such as Medicaid, Medicare, or third‑party insurance. Register clients into the CPCDMS and complete all necessary paperwork. Perform data entry of eligible clients into our electronic system. Maintain up-to-date and orderly eligibility files for seamless access and review. Conduct renewal eligibility assessments as required by each program. Confirm eligibility appointments and set initial service appointments once eligibility is determined. Provide clients with a list of required eligibility documentation. Participate actively in the Performance Improvement Program. Promote effective working relations and collaborate as part of a dedicated team. Attend all required safety training programs and adhere to safety protocols. Ensure a safe environment by following proper procedures and reporting concerns. Travel to other sites for training and coverage as needed. Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, some medical knowledge. A minimum of 3-5 years of medical billing experience preferred. Some training or background in ICD-A / CPT codes preferred. Ability to understand and practice bookkeeping and accounting terminology required. Ability to operate computers and other office machines required.Must be able to take responsibility and work under pressure. Bilingual English/Spanish is required. Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices preferred.
