Food Service SupervisorAs a Food Service Supervisor with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, you will help maintain a positive atmosphere at Danville State Hospital. The position requires strong leadership and attention to detail to maintain high standards set by regulating agencies. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:Staff Leadership: Guide food service workers and cooks by coordinating tasks, inspecting work, and providing feedbackTraining Oversight: Conduct orientation, on-the-job instruction, and in-service training for food service staffScheduling Management: Review staffing needs, assign shifts, and approve leave to maintain efficient operationsPerformance Evaluation: Complete reviews, document performance notes, and support quality work across all tasksSafety and Sanitation: Inspect food service areas, monitor temperatures, and address repair needs to meet standardsInventory Control: Order supplies, oversee storage, and maintain accurate monthly inventory recordsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours rotate between 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.This position works 7 to 8 day work weeks with 2 to 4 days off in a row. 1 out of every 3rd weekend off.This position rotates between AM supervisor and closing supervisorOvertime may be required as needed.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years as a Food Service Worker and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service; orThree years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
