Investment Funds Associate | New York | 3-5 Years | $275,000-$425,000 AJ Chambers are delighted to be working with an established New York law firm seeking a 3-5 year Investment Funds / Private Funds Associate to join its sophisticated Financial Services Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience advising investment funds, private funds and alternative investment managers, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, commodity pools and other alternative investment vehicles. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced partners and sophisticated clients, gaining meaningful exposure to fund formation, fund structuring, governance, regulatory and compliance matters, with direct client contact and responsibility from an early stage. Hybrid: Monday-Thursday in the New York office; remote Fridays. About the Role The attorney will work alongside partners within the Financial Services / Investment Funds practice and advise a broad range of fund and asset management clients. Key areas of work include: Investment Funds Private Funds Hedge Funds Private Equity Funds Venture Capital Funds Commodity Pools Alternative Investment Funds Investment Managers Regulatory and Compliance Matters Investment Management Alternative Investments Responsibilities Advise investment funds, fund sponsors, investment managers and alternative investment firms Assist with fund formation and fund structuring Advise clients on fund governance and organizational matters Assist with regulatory and compliance issues affecting investment funds and managersWork with partners on sophisticated financial services and investment management matters Communicate directly with clients and assist with ongoing client relationships Draft, review and negotiate fund and investment management documentation Research and advise on applicable securities, investment management and financial services regulations Collaborate with attorneys across the Financial Services Group Must Have 3-5 years of law firm experience Meaningful experience in investment funds, private funds or financial services law Experience advising one or more of: Hedge funds Private equity funds Venture capital funds Commodity pools Alternative investment funds Investment managers Experience with fund formation, fund structuring, governance, regulatory or compliance matters Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills Strong communication and client facing skills Ability to work closely with partners and sophisticated clients Nice to Have Experience with alternative investment managers Private fund formation Hedge fund formation Private equity fund formation Venture capital fund formation Real estate fund formation Commodity pool matters SEC / CFTC / NFA regulatory experience Securities law experience Experience with fund governance and compliance Direct client relationship experience $275,000-$425,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications Hybrid working arrangement Monday-Thursday in office, Remote Fridays Opportunity to work directly with experienced Financial Services partners Significant client exposure and sophisticated investment funds work Why Consider the Role?
