Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - 10 Month PositionClassified Job Description: The primary purpose of this position is to provide and manage health needs of students. The person filling this position needs to be available for medication administration throughout the assigned school day and perform other duties related to this position. The LVN will receive general direction and a daily schedule from the Assistant Principal and/or a Superintendent. The LVN provides specialized health care for students and LVN-level nursing services; assists in special education programs for special education; conducts vision and hearing exams; works with students who have specific physical needs; assists in the instructional process and training for teachers and staff; and reviews school immunization records of all students. Performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.Requirements / QualificationsMaterials Required: Materials must be submitted online. Two years of related experience. Bilingual preferred.Possession of a valid licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of California, including requirement for administration of prescribed medication. Possession of a valid CPR certificate. Current Health Certificate. Acquire and maintain valid First Aid certificate. Possession of valid California Driver's License.Comments and Other InformationFull command, verbal and written of the English Language. One year prior Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) experience preferred. Bilingual preferred. Full Time Position.
