Carpenter/Concrete Finisher

Job Description

Employee will work under the direct supervision of site superintendents and will be regularly monitored by ownership. Job duties include constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, metal, plywood, and wallboard using carpenter's hand and power tools. Work involves interiors and exteriors of commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural buildings. Employees will not operate any type of equipment or drive vehicles. Employees will not handle money. All jobsites are uninhabited structures.

Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures using carpenter's hand and power tools.
• Work on interiors and exteriors of various types of buildings.
• Read and understand technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Plan ahead and organize jobsite material and activities.
• Inspect products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Appropriately use equipment, facilities, materials, and manpower to control costs.

Hours:

6/7am-4:30pm - Monday-Friday

Current crew is working 45+ hours a week

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of building codes and standard carpentry methods, materials, and principles.
• Critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
• Ability to read and understand technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Installation of materials, equipment, and products to meet specifications.
• Use of mathematics to measure accurately, calculate dimensions, and solve problems.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to plan and organize jobsite material and activity.
• Inspection to evaluate quality or performance.
• Resource and time management skills.
• Knowledge of safety equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $35.00/hr.
