Job SummaryThe Epic Inpatient Orders Analyst is responsible for the design, build, testing, deployment, and optimization of the Epic Orders module. This role partners with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant ordering workflows that support patient care and enhance clinician experience.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain orders, order sets, panels, and preference lists; Configure routing, priority logic, and order workflows; Maintain order transmittal to downstream systems; Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and optimize workflows; Participate in system upgrades and implementations; Develop and execute testing plans; Support projects, go-live events, and system changes; Maintain documentation and decision records; Troubleshoot issues and support incident resolution; Provide on-call support; Partner with training teams to develop user documentation; Communicate system changes and updates; Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, nursing, or related field or equivalent experience; 1–3 years of clinical or EHR experience; Strong analytical, problem-solving, and workflow mapping skills; Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Preferred QualificationsEpic Orders certification or ability to obtain within 90 days; Experience with clinical regulatory requirements; Familiarity with documentation standards, order workflows, and nursing processes.
Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of clinical workflows; Ability to translate clinical requirements into system design; Analytical problem-solving skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities; Strong communication and collaboration skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; Commitment to patient safety and process improvement.
Working ConditionsStandard office or hybrid environment; May require after-hours or on-call support for upgrades, go-lives, or critical clinical workflows.
