About the Role
The Company is in need of a Senior Counsel with a strong background in commercial and energy-related legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support in a variety of areas, including commercial transactions, energy trading activities, procurement, technology, logistics, and regulatory issues. This role involves serving as a key legal advisor to various teams within the organization, structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of agreements, and ensuring compliance with federal and state energy regulations. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a J.D. from an accredited law school, be a licensed attorney in good standing, and have at least 10 years of relevant legal experience. The ideal candidate will have a combination of major law firm and in-house experience, with a focus on negotiating commercial and energy-related agreements. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting energy markets and a working knowledge of credit, bankruptcy, and risk management concepts are essential. The role requires strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in commodity trading, energy marketing, supply, logistics, or infrastructure-related businesses is strongly preferred.
