Mechanical EngineerMarkon is building a talent pool of Mechanical Engineers to join our team as part of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations to ensure alignment on design requirements and technical objectives.Review and disposition supplier mechanical design submittals, verifying compliance with specifications, industry standards, and manufacturability best practices.Conduct and evaluate static structural analyses (e.g., FEA) to validate the strength, performance, and integrity of designs.Provide technical guidance and recommendations to improve designs for reliability, maintainability, and ease of manufacturing.Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with internal teams and suppliers to resolve design issues and drive timely decisions.Interface with stakeholders and project teams to ensure engineering solutions meet program objectives, schedule, and quality requirements.Apply knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards (ASME, AWS) throughout the design review process.Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimize designs and processes.QualificationsRequired:Must have active DOE L clearance or a DoD secret clearance to be considered.Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.Minimum of 10+ years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar capacity.Experience with Model Based Design.Experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers.Experience reviewing static structural analyses (e.g. FEA).Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS).Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).Experience reviewing designs for joining processes (e.g. welding).Potential for telework up to 15%.Desired:Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.Salary RangeUSD $135,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
