Pharmacy Tech Instructor

Description

This position coordinates the activities, assignments, scheduling, and training of clients for the Certified Pharmacy Technician program and other industry-specific programs as needed at The Academy at Goodwill, licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Private and Career Education.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Responsible for the career and digital skills educational instruction of students enrolled in The Academy at Goodwill, including but not limited to persons with disabilities and other special needs, that desire an opportunity to attain skills useful and necessary to getting a job, building a career, and retaining long-term employment. Teach courses at a variety of times and locations, including evening and weekends. Travel will be necessary 20-25% of the time. Group instruction will take place both virtually and in-person. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
  2. Instruct and train clients in a range of soft skills and career best practices, including but not limited to: PharmaSeer, PharmaSeer Math, Medical Terminology, PersonAbility, Conflict Resolution, Customer Service, Decision-Making, Dependability, Ethics in the Workplace, Motivation, Organizational Skills, Self Advocacy, Social Interactions, Stress/Anger Management, Team Building, Time Management, and Self-Determination; Career Development, Career Advancement, Community Resources, Job Retention, and Professionalism. This duty is performed daily, about 50% of the time.
  3. Maintain orderly and current client files that adhere to regulations required by the Arkansas State Board of Private and Career Education. Maintain accurate documentation of program operations and services including, but not limited to, documentation required for participant files, internal support systems, compliance, and electronic records. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
  4. Assist the Operations Manager and Career Service Managers in developing classroom instruction, assessing skills attainment, and recommendations for placement of successful completers entering the workforce. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
  5. Maintain and properly store/secure equipment, supplies, tools associated with duties and transport equipment, supplies, and tools to assigned duties. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
  6. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 2-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Arkansas Pharmacy Technician certification and 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Required certificates, licenses, registrations include a valid Arkansas Driver's License.

Preferred certificates, licenses, registrations include an Arkansas Pharmacy Technician license.

Software skills required include intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and basic proficiency in Presentation/PowerPoint and Spreadsheet.

Qualifications include strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, ability to work well in a team, ability to create, monitor, and maintain systems that enhance instructional outcomes, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and effective presentation skills accompanied with inspiring stage presence.

Preferred qualifications include 2-3 years classroom teaching experience, teaching in virtual settings is a plus, experience teaching in a high-needs community, and experience working with and teaching adult learners in a post-secondary environment.
