Multimedia Coordinator

Patrol position performs general duty police work for the apprehension of criminals, prevention of crimes, protection of life and property, and general enforcement of all laws and ordinances on an assigned shift under general supervision. Responsible for routine patrol, crash investigation, crowd control, and preliminary investigation of all complaints. Incumbent: Jeffrey Nocchi Responsibilities Discovers and prevents the commission of crimes, enforces county and park ordinances, and enforces all state and motor vehicle laws for designated areas of the county Conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence, obtains witness statements, makes arrests, and escorts prisoners from the scenes of crimes Detains anyone wanted through the serving of warrants Investigates automobile accidents, assists local fire departments, and answers all calls and complaints with tact, diplomacy, and the amount of force necessary Makes dispositions of all complaints or inquiries or directs people to the proper organizations to handle the complaints Prepares evidence for issuance of complaints Serves criminal process, including warrants and subpoenas Testifies in court Acts in a relief capacity, working in other areas of the department as assigned Performs public relations duties as required or assigned Carries out any lawful order or duty as prescribed by the Sheriff or supervisor Qualifications Citizen of the United States Residency within 45‑minute response time by car to the courthouse upon appointment, and maintain such residency thereafter during employment. Deputies, who fail to meet this requirement, shall have their appointments immediately revoked by the Sheriff No felony convictions in any jurisdiction unless the judgment or conviction has been reversed or a complete pardon has been granted Twenty‑one (21) year of age or older upon appointment Documentary evidence of graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test Two (2) years of full‑time law enforcement experience, relevant military experience, or equivalent criminal justice experience, or a minimum of 60 fully accredited college‑level credits. Either a two‑year Associate Degree from a Wisconsin vocational, technical, and adult education district or its accredited equivalent from another state or a minimum of 60 fully accredited college‑level credits Note Note: An applicant who has not met this standard at the time of employment, shall meet this standard as a requirement of recertification by the board at the end of his or her fifth year of employment as a law enforcement officer. At the request of the applicant and upon documentation of experiences that have enhanced the applicant's writing, problem‑solving, or communication skills, the Law Enforcement Standards Board may waive a maximum of 30 college‑level credits. Appointment and Conditions Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a pre‑employment physical exam, psychological exam, background check, and drug‑screening test. As a condition of employment, will be required to periodically pass a physical examination and will be subject to random drug testing.
