Sr. HR Generalist

Job Purpose

Supports the HR Manager in the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department including recruiting, onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee relations. This is an early-career role for a motivated HR professional who is eager to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in a hands-on environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

3. Payroll

• Review time-worked inputs for calculating, coding, or other errors.
• Ensures all payroll data is loaded accurately for payroll processing.
• Monitors computer reports (Payroll) reconciling errors and maintaining payroll records.
• Verify all payroll changes within payroll.
• Performs action necessary to determine pay and deductions including Federal and State taxes, insurance, 401(K), savings and other deductions.

1. Staffing

• Supports the talent acquisition process, including posting job requisitions, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and assisting with the hiring of qualified candidates; works closely with the HR Manager and departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for open roles.
• Maintain records for filing EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

1. Other Essential Functions

• Updates HR database with employee change requests and processes paperwork.
• Conducts new employee on boarding and orientation programs to ensure employees gain an understanding of policies and procedures, and benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
• Maintain, and at times create, training materials for all employee self-service (HR/Payroll related only)
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Work with International HR Departments to analyze, coordinate and integrate jobs, benefits, appraisals, policies and procedures including all compliance matters.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human
• Administrates employee eligibility for all benefits and updates all employee benefit/insurance accounts.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Assist with all departmental audits requiring human resource and/payroll data

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; associate degree considered with relevant experience. Two to five years' experience in human resources or a related role required.
2. Some exposure to an HRIS platform preferred; willingness to learn required
3. Experience using Microsoft products, Excel, Word, SharePoint etc.
4. Experience using LMS (Learning Management System)
5. Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
6. Human Resources Certification a plus
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Ability to be patient, adaptable and maintain confidentiality
9. Strong intellectual curiosity and a drive to learn; comfortable asking questions and digging into the details
10. Eager to contribute, take initiative, and be part of building and improving HR processes; not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done

Working Conditions

This job operates between an office and manufacturing / warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Little to no travel is expected for this position.
