Process Improvement Engineer
Position Overview: This position must support the operations of Plant 70 through process improvement initiatives as identified using Lean methodology.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, maintain, and drive cost reduction initiatives for the plants. Establish annual incremental cost reduction plan strategy.
- Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Principles as drivers of continuous improvement. Coach/Mentor leaders for all Plant Green/Black Belt Projects
- Coordinate and communicate Waste initiatives both process & landfill waste.
- Lead the efforts to ensure the Process Improvement (PI) system is effective.
- Must be able to prepare capital & expense project proposals (requires CPM training) for new equipment, modifications, and upgrades.
- Assist with preparation of capital project budget list for the plant on an annual basis.
- Conduct time studies as needed in the various manufacturing areas. Assist in layout changes for the plant or any departments within the plant.
- Must be able to conduct analysis and give recommendations based upon collection of data using reports, observations, and time studies.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and work without close supervision.
- Manage the plants' waste streams and recycling initiatives
- Assist with developing the annual plant budgets
- Analyze cost variances and create and implement plans for cost improvements
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by Plant Leadership.
Position Requirements:
- Four (4) year college degree in Industrial Engineering or similar field required.
- 1+ year experience manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred
- Must be Black Belt trained (or willing to attend training)
- Must present information in a professional and user friendly package
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

Salary Grade 5 or 6 - based on experience.
Work Shift: 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
